Resopal Traceless

A difficult case for forensic scientists

Velvety surfaces simply ask to be touched. Yet that is rarely without consequences: fingerprints, smears, fatty smudges – as a living part of the body, our skin almost always leaves unsightly traces. Hence the need for solutions ensuring that surfaces still look perfect despite being touched frequently, such as kitchen fronts or doors.

The new "Traceless" surface can be touched without leaving any traces. A special coating process permanently protects the surface from marks, making it much easier to keep clean. Special lacquers are used to reduce the material's thermal conductivity so as to prevent visible condensation from forming on the surface. Developed specifically for this purpose, "Traceless" benefits from a microstructure that makes marks almost invisible.

"Touch me!" is therefore explicitly desired at Interzum 2015. In the "Traceless" box designed in the style of a shop, the difference is demonstrated by a dark environment interacting with black light. The collection for this new surface comprises seven colours altogether, including shades of grey and earth colours, as well as black and snow white. "Traceless" acts as a reflection-free soft-focus lens for the colours with which it is combined and lets them appear as vital, full-bodied pigments.
